This marks a substantial rise from the 57.5% occupancy recorded in 2023, translating into an additional 502 overnight stays. This data was revealed by Paula Margarido, the Regional Secretary for Inclusion, Employment, and Youth, during her recent visit to the municipality.

The growth in occupancy at the youth center underscores its strategic importance in promoting mobility among young people. This is particularly crucial for peripheral regions like Porto Moniz, which are experiencing demographic challenges such as population aging.

These indicators reinforce the strategic role of the Center in promoting youth mobility," noted Margarido, emphasizing the importance of infrastructures that attract young people, especially in peripheral municipalities affected by demographic aging.
