The Portuguese Institute for Sea and Atmosphere forecasts cloudy skies with some clear spells in southwest Madeira, along with light, scattered showers in the north and highlands. Winds will be moderate to strong, potentially reaching 60 km/h in gusts.

The weather forecast for Friday, March 13th, indicates a mixture of clouds and sunshine for Madeira Island. According to the Portuguese Institute for Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA), residents and tourists can expect periods of heavy cloud cover with some sunny spells, especially in the southwest of the island.

Light and scattered showers are predicted primarily in the northern regions and the highlands. This weather pattern is typical for the island's diverse microclimates, which can vary significantly within short distances.

Wind conditions are expected to be moderate, ranging from 20 to 35 km/h, blowing from the northeast. However, in some parts of the island, particularly in the highlands and the eastern and western tips, the wind may become strong, reaching up to 45 km/h, with gusts possibly hitting 60 km/h by late morning.

The temperatures are anticipated to remain stable, not showing significant deviations from the usual for this time of year. Visitors and locals are advised to plan their outdoor activities accordingly, taking into account the varying weather conditions across the island.
