In Ponta do Sol, Madeira, a traffic incident involving a motorbike and a car resulted in injury. The accident occurred on the via expresso in Lugar de Baixo when a car exiting a parking spot collided with a motorbike. The motorcyclist, a 46-year-old male, suffered a dislocated shoulder and was promptly attended to by the local emergency services. He was transported to Hospital Dr Nélio Mendonça for further treatment.
Almost concurrently, the local fire brigade was dispatched to handle a fire at a nearby roundabout in Ponta do Sol. This incident was caused by a piece of cardboard that had fallen from a vehicle, igniting in the middle of the traffic circle. Three firefighters responded to the scene with a heavy-duty fire vehicle to control the situation.
