He was subsequently transported to the Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital for further treatment.

This accident is part of a string of incidents in the area. Just a day earlier, on February 21, a fire broke out at the roundabout on the expressway in Ponta do Sol. The fire was caused by cardboard that reportedly fell from a vehicle, although the vehicle was not present at the scene. Three firefighters responded with a heavy vehicle to control the situation.
