This Sunday, the city of Funchal on Madeira Island was transformed into a vibrant spectacle as the first part of the allegorical parade of the Flower Festival took place. João Egídio Rodrigues presented '50 Anos em Flor' (50 Years in Bloom), while the Rosa Flor – Associação Cultural, Recreativa e Desportiva and Escola de Samba delighted audiences with 'A Rosa da Autonomia: 50 Primavera de Liberdade' (The Rose of Autonomy: 50 Springs of Freedom).
Other notable participants included Associação Tramas e Enredos with their theme 'Do Mar à Serra' (From Sea to Mountain), and Escola de Samba Caneca Furada with '50 Anos de Identidade Madeirense' (50 Years of Madeiran Identity). The creative displays and samba rhythms captivated onlookers and celebrated the island's unique culture.
