Motorcycle Accident Injures Young Local

On January 11, 2026, around 14:23, a 19-year-old was injured in a collision between a motorcycle and a car on Estrada Comandante Camacho de Freitas, in Fundoa. The young man suffered spinal pain and was immobilized on a hard board before being transported to Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça by the Bombeiros Voluntários Madeirenses.

Tourist Assaulted and Robbed

Earlier that day, at approximately 03:30, emergency services responded to a report of a tourist being assaulted and robbed. The incident occurred on a public street, and the victim, a man in his 40s, sustained facial injuries. He was also taken to the Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça for treatment.

Woman Attacked in Amusement Park

In another disturbing event, a 62-year-old woman was attacked in an amusement park near the circus in Funchal. The assault, which happened around 15:00 on January 10, left her with a head wound. She received immediate medical attention and was subsequently taken to the hospital.
