Young Motorcyclist Injured in Traffic Accident

In the early afternoon, a 19-year-old motorcyclist was injured in a collision with a car on Estrada Comandante Camacho de Freitas, in the Fundoa area. The young man suffered spinal pain and was immobilized and transported to Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital for further treatment. The quick response from the Bombeiros Voluntários Madeirenses was crucial in ensuring the young man's safety.

Fatal Cardiac Arrests in Funchal

Emergency services also responded to two tragic incidents involving cardiac arrests. The first occurred late at night on January 10, when a 72-year-old man suffered a fatal cardiac arrest in Boa Nova. Just hours later, in the early hours of the morning, a 64-year-old man faced a similar fate at an institution in Funchal. Despite the efforts of the Bombeiros Voluntários Madeirenses and the Emergency Medical Intervention Team (EMIR), both men sadly passed away.

Tourist Assaulted and Robbed

In another alarming incident, a tourist in his 40s was assaulted and robbed in the early hours near a hotel in Funchal. The victim sustained facial trauma and was treated at Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital. This incident highlights the need for increased safety measures for both locals and tourists in the area.

Woman Attacked at Amusement Park

Later in the afternoon, a 62-year-old woman was attacked at an amusement park near the circus in Funchal. She suffered a head injury and was also taken to Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital. The motive behind the attack remains unclear, but it adds to the day's concerning pattern of violence.
