On February 3rd, a male worker in his 30s was severely injured when several cement bags fell on him in Rua Vale da Ajuda, Funchal. The impact left him unconscious, necessitating immediate medical attention. Emergency services, including the Bombeiros Voluntários Madeirenses, quickly transported him to Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital, where he remains under observation.
Elderly Couple Hit by Bus
Earlier the same day, an elderly couple in their 70s was struck by a passenger bus near the Empresa de Eletricidade da Madeira. The accident occurred when the bus’s rear door, left open, collided with the couple, causing injuries that required hospital treatment. The woman suffered scalp lacerations, and the man sustained facial cuts.

Emergency Response to Isolated Elderly Woman
On January 31st, emergency services were called to Rua Cidade do Cabo after neighbors reported not seeing a 78-year-old woman for two days. Upon forced entry with the assistance of PSP, the woman was found after having fallen and was unable to move. She was also taken to Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital for treatment.
