Her funeral took place on June 11, starting at the Salão Paroquial da Igreja da Raposeira and proceeding to the Igreja Paroquial de São Pedro. Maria de Jesus Leitão Gouveia Ladeira
Maria de Jesus Leitão Gouveia Ladeira, a native of Estreito da Calheta, was laid to rest on June 10, 2026. Her funeral began at the Igreja da Raposeira, moving to the Igreja Paroquial de Nossa Senhora da Graça. The local community, including the Association of Volunteer Firefighters of Calheta, offered their condolences, recognizing her as the mother of firefighter Rúben Luís Gouveia.
