The Youth Participatory Budget is engaging 150 students in Porto Santo, empowering young residents to contribute to public policy development.

The fourth edition of the Youth Participatory Budget (OPJ) is currently underway in Porto Santo, an initiative aimed at involving young residents in public policy formation. Held at the Municipal Chamber's auditorium, this year's event will see the participation of 150 secondary and vocational students.

For the fourth consecutive year, the Porto Santo municipality is continuing its efforts to integrate youth in the decision-making process, targeting individuals aged 16 to 30. This initiative is part of a broader vision to cultivate an engaged and proactive community on the island, often referred to as the "Ilha Dourada" or Golden Island.

The OPJ's primary goal is to empower young citizens by giving them a platform to express their ideas and influence the policies that affect their lives. This democratic process not only fosters a sense of responsibility but also encourages innovation and leadership among the island's youth.

The event is particularly significant for Porto Santo, a popular tourist destination in Madeira, as it reflects the island's commitment to nurturing its future generations. By involving young people in such initiatives, the municipality hopes to inspire them to take an active role in the community's future.
