The Porto Moniz Council has approved a near €10 million budget for 2026, marking a slight increase from the previous year. The budget was approved with majority support, focusing on local development.

The Câmara Municipal of Porto Moniz, located in the northern part of Madeira, has announced a budget of €9.96 million for the year 2026. This budget reflects a minor increase of €1,670 compared to the previous year, indicating stable financial planning for the region.

The budget was officially approved during a council meeting held on December 11, with the three elected members of the Socialist Party (PS) voting in favor, while the two councilors from the PSD/CDS-PP coalition abstained from voting.

Following this, the Municipal Assembly also passed the budget on a subsequent Monday, again receiving favorable votes from the Socialist Party members and abstention from the PSD/CDS-PP coalition.

Porto Moniz is a picturesque municipality known for its natural swimming pools and stunning landscapes, making it a popular spot for both locals and tourists. The approved budget aims to support infrastructure and community projects that enhance the living standards and attract more visitors to the area.
