An enchanting opera night is set to take place at Parque de Santa Catarina, celebrating Madeira Day with a free concert by the Madeira Classical Orchestra. The event promises to highlight the island's cultural heritage.

In celebration of Madeira Day, the Parque de Santa Catarina in Funchal will host a captivating opera night, free for all attendees. The event will take place on Wednesday at 21:00, organized by the Regional Government of Madeira.

This annual concert, performed by the Madeira Classical Orchestra under the artistic direction of Norberto Gomes, will feature renowned artists including Lithuanian soprano Viktorija Miškūnaitė, Madeiran tenor Alberto Sousa, and conductor Luís Andrade.

The program includes a selection of classical and cinematic masterpieces by composers such as Giuseppe Verdi, Ennio Morricone, and Andrew Lloyd Webber. These works have transcended generations, becoming part of the universal cultural heritage.

Set against the natural amphitheater of Parque de Santa Catarina, the concert aims to celebrate the rich cultural identity of Madeira and its global communities through the universal language of music.

The event also highlights the talents of students from the Conservatory – School of Arts of Madeira, demonstrating a commitment to nurturing local artistic development.
