Car Fire at Serra de Água
In the late afternoon, a vehicle caught fire on the expressway at Serra de Água, just before the Encumeada tunnel. The Ribeira Brava and Ponta do Sol Volunteer Firefighters responded promptly with two vehicles and seven personnel. Fortunately, the fire was already extinguished upon their arrival. The alarm was raised at approximately 6:30 PM.
Rollover Near Funchal Hospital
Earlier in the day, at around 5:30 AM, the Funchal Firefighters were called to a rollover accident at the roundabout near Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital. A car had overturned, but the driver, a man in his 30s, managed to exit the vehicle unaided. He was subsequently taken to the hospital for further evaluation.
Collision and Fire at Estrada do Lazareto
Meanwhile, on Estrada do Lazareto in Funchal, a car veered off the road, collided with a wall, and caught fire. The Madeira Volunteer Firefighters were mobilized, sending ten personnel and two vehicles to the scene. The driver suffered a head injury and required medical attention.
