Fatal Medical Emergency in Machico
Earlier in the day, at 15:22, a tragic event unfolded in the heart of Machico. A woman suffered a cardiac arrest on Rua Conselheiro José Ribeiro da Cunha. Despite the swift response from both the Municipal Firefighters of Machico and the emergency medical intervention team (EMIR), their efforts to revive her were unsuccessful.
Tourist Incident on Levada do Norte
At 15:13, a 77-year-old English tourist experienced a serious fall while walking along the Levada do Norte in the Foro area of Estreito de Câmara de Lobos. The woman fell from a height of 10 meters, resulting in a deep head wound and injuries to her leg and cervical area. Five firefighters from Câmara de Lobos were dispatched to the remote location to carry out her rescue. She was subsequently taken to Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça for medical attention.
