On January 29, 2026, a woman was injured in a lateral car collision on Estrada de São João in Funchal. The Portuguese Red Cross and the Funchal Fire Department were quickly dispatched to the scene. The woman, experiencing chest pains, was promptly taken to Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça for further medical evaluation.

Man Found Dead Near Madeira Tecnopólo

Earlier that day, emergency services, including the Emergency Medical Intervention and Resuscitation (EMIR), the Public Security Police (PSP), and the Funchal Firefighters, responded to the discovery of a deceased man in his 40s near Madeira Tecnopólo. Authorities confirmed that neither illness nor foul play was suspected in his death.

Grave Motorcycle Accident on Rua Simplicio dos Passos Gouveia

Just two days prior, on January 27, 2026, another serious incident occurred involving a motorcycle and a car on Rua Simplicio dos Passos Gouveia, close to the Enotel hotel. The motorcyclist, a 25-year-old male, sustained severe injuries and emergency services were on site to provide necessary aid.
