Tree Blocks Road in São Gonçalo
In São Gonçalo, specifically at Lombo da Quinta, a tree fell and blocked a road, causing traffic disruptions. The Volunteer Firefighters of Madeira were quickly mobilized to the scene. A light vehicle with two crew members managed to resolve the situation promptly, ensuring the resumption of normal traffic flow.
Motorcycle Accident in Funchal
Earlier in the day, a motorcycle accident occurred on Rua Doutor João Serra Velez Caroço, Funchal. The Funchal Fire Brigade responded to the scene where a 53-year-old man suffered respiratory difficulties and rib pain. He was transported to Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital for further treatment.
Family Involved in Vehicle Collision
Another incident involved a collision between a motorcycle and a car on Estrada da Fundoa, Funchal. A 46-year-old woman and her teenage son, who were in the car, were taken to hospital due to minor injuries and shock, following the deployment of the car's airbags. The motorcyclist, despite sustaining leg abrasions, declined hospital treatment.
Car Fire in Monte
In a separate event, the Madeira Volunteer Firefighters were called to a car fire in Livramento, Monte. The blaze, reported at 4 AM, was extinguished by eight firefighters with the aid of three vehicles, preventing the spread of the fire.
