Earlier on December 30, a vehicle caught fire on Avenida do Mar near the cable car station. By the time firefighters arrived, the blaze had already been extinguished, but the incident highlighted the need for rapid response to prevent potential hazards in crowded areas.

On the morning of December 30, the Funchal Municipal Firefighters responded to a gas leak in an apartment on Caminho do Cemitério, Santo António. Eleven firefighters with three vehicles managed the situation, preventing any escalation.

On December 29, a 57-year-old German tourist became unconscious due to hypoglycemia while hiking at Levada dos Balcões, Ribeiro Frio. Fortunately, two doctors nearby provided initial aid until the Santana Volunteer Firefighters arrived. Six firefighters successfully rescued the tourist, who was then taken to Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça.
