Vehicle Accidents
On February 20th, a 19-year-old male was injured in a collision between a car and a motorcycle on Estrada Comandante Camacho de Freitas, near Bairro das Romeiras. The young man sustained injuries to his foot and was promptly taken to Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça by the Bombeiros Sapadores do Funchal.
Earlier, on February 17th, a 26-year-old was injured in a motorcycle crash on the highway at Ăgua de Pena, heading towards Funchal. The man sustained arm abrasions and was also transported to the same hospital.
Assaults
In a separate incident on February 18th, a 32-year-old foreign national was assaulted in a commercial establishment on Rua Latino Coelho. Emergency services responded quickly, and the individual was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Additionally, an 18-year-old was assaulted on Avenida SĂĄ Carneiro in the early hours of February 17th. He received medical attention on the scene and was subsequently taken to the hospital for further care.
Unusual Incident
In CĂąmara de Lobos, a man reportedly under the influence of bloomâa synthetic drugâclaimed that a car ran over his foot. However, he refused hospitalization after the emergency response.
