Motorcycle and Car Collision

In Funchal, a collision between a motorcycle and a car on Estrada dos Marmeleiros resulted in injuries to both drivers. The 39-year-old motorcyclist suffered complaints of back, cervical, and knee pain, requiring immobilization and transport to Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça. The 57-year-old female car driver experienced distress and was also taken to the hospital.

Pedestrian Accident in Machico

Earlier in the day, a 60-year-old woman was lightly injured after being hit by a vehicle on Rua da Árvore in Machico. She received immediate assistance from the Municipal Firefighters of Machico and was transported to the local health center for further care.

Warehouse Fall in Cancela

A worker at a warehouse in Cancela fell from a height of three meters, sustaining a head injury and bleeding from the mouth. The man was quickly attended to by the Emergency Medical Intervention and Rescue (EMIR) team and the local firefighters, and was taken to Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça.

Cardiorespiratory Arrest in Funchal

In another incident, a man in his 70s suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest at a business on Rua das Murças, Funchal. Emergency services, including the EMIR and firefighters, responded swiftly, managing to resuscitate him before transporting him to the hospital.

Car Accident on Rua Bela Santiago

On January 12, a separate car accident occurred on Rua Bela Santiago in Funchal, resulting in a 51-year-old man suffering cervical pain. He was treated and taken to the hospital for further evaluation.

These incidents highlight the importance of safety and preparedness on the island, especially during peak tourist seasons. Residents and visitors are reminded to exercise caution and adhere to local traffic and safety regulations.
