The young rider sustained injuries to his lower back and was promptly transported to the Hospital Dr Nélio Mendonça by the rapid response team from the Bombeiros Sapadores de Santa Cruz.

Earlier, on the afternoon of January 19, 2026, an accident occurred at the São Jorge roundabout on the via expresso. Two men suffered minor injuries and were taken to the Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça following a motorcycle collision. The incident was managed by the Bombeiros Voluntários de Santana, who arrived swiftly to provide aid.

On the same day, another crash took place on Rua Henrique Franco Pintor in the Barreiros area. A 56-year-old man was injured, complaining of leg pain. The emergency response was handled by the Bombeiros Sapadores do Funchal, who ensured the victim was stabilized before hospitalization.
