Madeira Island will experience mild temperatures with cloudy skies and light showers, especially in northern and highland regions, on the last Sunday of the year.

The Instituto Português do Mar e da Atmosfera (IPMA) has forecasted that the weather on Madeira Island for this Sunday, December 28, will be characterized by generally cloudy skies. There is a possibility of light showers, mainly affecting the northern slopes and highland areas of the island.

Interestingly, in the highest altitudes of Madeira, any precipitation is likely to fall as snow, providing a rare sight for both residents and tourists. This unique weather phenomenon could add a touch of winter magic to the island, renowned for its mild climate.

The wind is expected to blow moderately from the northwest at speeds of 20 to 30 km/h. However, in the highlands, it may reach up to 40 km/h early in the morning before gradually decreasing to less than 15 km/h by the afternoon.

Despite the cloud cover and chance of rain, temperatures will remain mild, aligning with the island's reputation for having a pleasant climate even in winter. These conditions are ideal for exploring the island's natural beauty and enjoying outdoor activities, which are popular among tourists and locals alike.
