The Mega Nativity Scene located in Jardim da Serra, Madeira, has become a major attraction this holiday season, sprawling across an impressive 800 square meters. Situated within a two-story garage, the display follows a 230-meter linear path, making it one of the largest in the region.

António Fernandes, the project lead, revealed that this is the tenth edition of this initiative. The project, initially organized by the Associação Cultural e Recreativa Flor da Serra, has grown significantly over the years, now attracting an average of 30,000 visitors annually. This extensive nativity scene features live animals, adding to its charm and authenticity.

The President of the Regional Government, Miguel Albuquerque, praised the nativity scene for its outstanding quality and as a vibrant representation of Madeira’s ethnographic heritage. He emphasized that visitors will gain a comprehensive understanding of the island's traditional lifestyle and customs.

The nativity scene not only serves as a celebration of Christmas and local festivities, known as 'Festa', but also as an educational exhibit highlighting the island's rich cultural tapestry. For both locals and tourists, it offers a unique glimpse into the historical way of life in Madeira.
