This Sunday marks the return of the much-anticipated Mega King Cake event in Câmara de Lobos, Madeira. Known for its grandeur, the event will feature a colossal cake weighing 265 kilograms and stretching 180 meters in length. Crafted by the renowned local bakery Panidoce, this cake is set to be a centerpiece of the communal festivities.
Organized by the Câmara Municipal, the event is part of the Christmas festivities and aims to strengthen community bonds while celebrating local traditions. The official presentation is scheduled for 11:00 AM at the city center, with the cake being served to the public.
Adding to the festive atmosphere, 48 liters of cherry liqueur will be available, served in three thousand chocolate cups, offering a sweet complement to the cake. This initiative not only celebrates the culinary arts but also highlights the communal spirit of Câmara de Lobos.
The presence of Miguel Albuquerque, the President of the Regional Government, along with the municipal executive led by Celso Bettencourt, underscores the event’s significance. It provides an excellent opportunity for residents and tourists to engage with local culture and enjoy a unique aspect of Madeira's festive offerings.
