This annual event, supported by the Funchal City Council, is a staple in Madeira's cultural calendar, attracting both locals and tourists.
This year, the orchestra was joined by the celebrated Madeiran tenor Alberto Sousa. The performance was conducted by the renowned Italian maestro Gianluca Marcianò, who has been praised by the Sunday Times for his "unfailingly theatrical and idiomatic direction."
