The Regional Secretary of Tourism, Environment and Culture, Eduardo Jesus, has unveiled the 'Upgrade' program aimed at enhancing local accommodations across Madeira. This initiative promises to transform tourism infrastructure and benefit all 11 municipalities.

In an ambitious move to elevate the tourism sector in Madeira, the Regional Secretary of Tourism, Environment, and Culture, Eduardo Jesus, has launched the 'Upgrade' program. This initiative was introduced during a meeting with Funchal's Mayor Jorge Carvalho and Councillor Paulo Silva Lobo. It's the first of a series of meetings planned across the 11 municipalities of Madeira.

The 'Upgrade' program is designed to enhance the quality of local accommodations and aims to boost the tourism infrastructure of the island. By focusing on local hospitality, the program seeks to attract more tourists to Madeira, ensuring a sustainable and enriching experience for visitors and residents alike.

The initiative follows a previous presentation to the tourism sector on December 10th and marks the beginning of a concerted effort to engage with local authorities and stakeholders. The meetings will disseminate information about the benefits and implementation strategies of the 'Upgrade' program.

Madeira, known for its breathtaking landscapes and vibrant culture, relies heavily on tourism. The 'Upgrade' program is seen as a crucial step in maintaining the island's appeal as a world-class tourist destination, ensuring that the infrastructure keeps pace with increasing visitor numbers.

Eduardo Jesus emphasized the program's potential to foster economic growth and improve the quality of life for Madeira's residents. By investing in local accommodations, the government aims to create jobs and promote sustainable tourism practices.
