The Autonomous Region of Madeira has marked its presence at the National Agriculture Fair (FNA) held in Santarém until June 14, 2026. This event, regarded as Portugal's largest agricultural showcase, highlights Madeira's commitment to promoting its unique regional products.
Nuno Maciel, the Regional Secretary for Agriculture and Fisheries, emphasized the importance of Madeira's return to the fair after a hiatus. Last year, Madeira decided not to participate due to concerns about ensuring a dignified representation. However, this year, the island's participation has been marked by a strong institutional presence and a focused promotion of its agricultural offerings.
The fair, which dedicates special attention to small fruits like blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries, provides Madeira with an ideal platform to highlight these and other local products. The growing consumer demand for these fruits, due to their high nutritional value, aligns perfectly with Madeira's agricultural strengths.
