Madeira Honors Nursing Excellence with Prestigious Award

In a remarkable recognition of academic excellence, the Regional Government of Madeira has issued a Voto de Congratulação (Vote of Congratulation) to Sílvia Maria Alves Caldeira Berenguer. She is an Associate Professor with Aggregation at the Faculty of Health Sciences and Nursing at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa.
This honor comes on the heels of her receiving the SIGMA European Award for Nursing Excellence in Education 2026. This prestigious international accolade is awarded by Sigma Europe, the European branch of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, which is the second largest nursing organization in the world.
Professor Caldeira's career is distinguished by her innovative teaching methods, scientific rigor, and commitment to evidence-based, humanistic nursing practices. Her work not only enhances the quality of Portuguese higher education but also elevates the scientific contributions of the Autonomous Region of Madeira on a global scale.
