Elderly Woman Rescued in Funchal
The Voluntary Firefighters of Madeira were called to Rua Cidade do Cabo after concerns were raised about a 78-year-old woman who hadn't been seen for two days. Upon forced entry into her home, they discovered she had fallen and was unable to move. The woman was promptly taken to Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça for treatment.
Car Rollover Near Hospital
Early in the morning, around 5:30 AM, the Funchal Firefighters were dispatched to a traffic accident near the hospital. A car had overturned, but fortunately, the driver, a man in his 30s, managed to escape unaided. He was assessed and transported to Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça.
Pedestrian Accident on Avenida Sá Carneiro
Shortly after, another emergency call came in for a pedestrian accident on Avenida Sá Carneiro. A 39-year-old man was hit by a vehicle and sustained minor injuries. Emergency responders attended to his wounds before taking him to the hospital for further examination.
Car Crash and Fire on Estrada do Lazareto
In a separate incident, a car veered off the road on Estrada do Lazareto, collided with a wall, and caught fire. The driver suffered a head injury, and the Voluntary Firefighters of Madeira arrived swiftly with two vehicles to manage the situation.
