Paula Margarido, the Regional Secretary for Inclusion, Employment, and Youth, highlighted the institution's long-standing commitment to elder care in Madeira, underscoring how it has become more than just a social service. "We find not only an institution but a community, a family, and a true home," she noted, emphasizing the humane and affectionate care offered to each resident.
The celebration was attended by several notable figures, including Nivalda Gonçalves, President of the Social Security Institute of Madeira, and Mara Gonçalves, the institution's director. A special eucaristic ceremony led by Father VĂtor Sousa, the chaplain of the institution, included the blessing of couples associated with the establishment, marking a significant moment of the day.
The event was themed "Love Lives Here! This is My Home!", a sentiment expressed by resident Assis Carvalho, which encapsulates the spirit of the Estabelecimento Santa Isabel. This motto reflects the institution's dedication to creating a nurturing environment where residents are treated with dignity and respect.
The celebrations highlighted the institution's nearly four decades of dedication to the elderly of the region, a testament to the hard work and commitment of its staff. Margarido praised the staff's dedication, acknowledging their daily efforts to provide care and companionship to the residents.
