A Peugeot 205 named 'Le Nomad' has set off from Madeira to deliver over 40 kg of donations to children in isolated Sahara villages.

A remarkable charitable adventure began today as 'Le Nomad,' a Peugeot 205, set off from Madeira, aiming to aid children living in isolated villages within the Sahara Desert. The initiative, led by Gonçalo and Nélson Rodrigues, involves transporting over 40 kilograms of donations.

This project marks a significant step in the UniRaid event of 2026, with the vehicle departing for Lisbon as its first stop. Gonçalo and his son Nélson will join the vehicle next week to continue their journey to Morocco.

The story of 'Le Nomad' was initially shared in the 'Final Feliz' segment of the DIÁRIO newspaper last November. This initiative highlights the spirit of solidarity and adventure that characterizes this unique endeavor.

UniRaid is a rally that combines the thrill of adventure with humanitarian aid, as participants are required to navigate challenging terrains while delivering essential supplies to remote communities.
