The Noite do Mercado is a cherished tradition in Madeira, combining the joy of last-minute Christmas shopping with vibrant street festivities. To ensure the city remains clean and welcoming, the Funchal City Council has launched an extensive cleaning operation. This initiative includes the distribution of 156 waste containers strategically placed around the event area.
Significant efforts are in place to manage waste efficiently, with operations extending into the early hours of December 24th. The cleaning crews are tasked with collecting waste from the streets and ensuring the sanitation of public spaces, which are expected to be completed by 8 PM on the 24th.
