Altered Woman on the Bridge
On the afternoon of April 30, 2026, the Bombeiros Voluntários Madeirenses were dispatched to the bridge in front of the Bazar do Povo in Funchal. A 45-year-old woman was reported to be in a disturbed state, prompting immediate action by both the local police (PSP) and bystanders. The woman was safely transported to the Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça for further care.
Assault on Nepali Man
Later that evening, around 10 PM, another urgent situation arose when a 43-year-old Nepali man was assaulted on Rua do Ribeirinho de Baixo. The man sustained injuries to his face and mouth and required medical attention. The local fire brigade once again responded swiftly, transporting the injured man to the Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça.
