Three incidents occurred throughout the day, involving a car fire, a severe motorcycle accident, and a physical assault, all requiring immediate response from the Bombeiros Voluntários Madeirenses.

Car Fire Near Luso Brasileira

In the afternoon, a car caught fire at the traffic lights near Luso Brasileira, close to the rapid road access. Seven members of the Bombeiros Voluntários Madeirenses were dispatched with two vehicles to manage the situation. Fortunately, the fire was extinguished using a fire extinguisher before their arrival, preventing further damage or injury.

Motorcycle Accident at Amparo Intersection

Earlier in the day, a serious motorcycle accident occurred at the Amparo intersection in Funchal. A young motorcyclist collided with a truck, resulting in severe injuries. The impact was so significant that the truck’s wheel crushed the motorcyclist's leg, leading to the likelihood of amputation. Emergency services promptly transported the victim to Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça for urgent medical care.

Assault at Infante Roundabout

The day began with an assault incident at the Infante roundabout, where a 39-year-old man sustained a head injury. The victim was quickly attended to by the emergency services and taken to Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça, ensuring he received the necessary medical attention.
