Known for his strong familial bonds, Manuel leaves behind a loving family including his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His funeral was held on the morning of May 10 at the Igreja Matriz de Santa Cruz, followed by interment at the local cemetery. A memorial mass will also be held on the upcoming Saturday.
Remembering Hermínia Moniz Rodrigues Alves
Hermínia Moniz Rodrigues Alves, a long-time resident of Santa Cruz's Rua dos Moinhos, died on May 8, 2026. Her funeral took place on May 9, with services held at the Igreja Matriz de Santa Cruz. Hermínia's family expressed gratitude to the staff of Casa da Sagrada Família for their compassionate care during her final days. A seventh-day mass is planned for this Saturday.
Farewell to José Manuel Alves Caldeira
José Manuel Alves Caldeira, from Machico, passed on May 8, 2026. His funeral was conducted on May 10, beginning at the Funeral Home in Machico and concluding with a cremation at the Cemitério de Nossa Senhora das Angústias in São Martinho.
