The Madeira community is mourning the loss of three cherished residents: Teresa da Encarnação de Abreu Costa, Agostinho de Freitas, and Domingas Fernandes de Sousa. These individuals were beloved members of their communities, leaving behind lasting legacies.

Teresa da Encarnação de Abreu Costa's Legacy

Teresa da Encarnação de Abreu Costa was a resident of Estrada de São Paulo, Ribeira Brava. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, starting from Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça at 3:00 PM. A mass will be held at the parish church of São Paulo, Ribeira Brava, at 4:00 PM, followed by her burial at the local cemetery. A memorial mass is scheduled for Sunday, April 12, 2026, at 7:00 AM.

Honoring Agostinho de Freitas

Agostinho de Freitas, who lived at Beco do Espírito Santo, Câmara de Lobos, will be remembered fondly by his family and friends. His funeral is set for Monday, April 6, 2026, beginning at Hospital Particular da Madeira at 1:00 PM, with a mass at the Câmara de Lobos cemetery chapel at 2:00 PM. His family invites the community to a memorial service on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 6:30 PM at the parish church of São Sebastião.

Remembering Domingas Fernandes de Sousa

Domingas Fernandes de Sousa, a cherished member of the community in Campanário, will be laid to rest on Tuesday, April 7, 2026. Her funeral procession will depart from Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça at 9:45 AM, with a mass at 11:00 AM in the parish church of São Paulo, Ribeira Brava. A memorial mass is planned for Sunday, April 12, 2026, at 7:00 AM.
