Café Memória Madeira will host an event on January 24th, focusing on fall prevention for those with memory challenges. Local experts will lead discussions.

This Saturday, January 24th, Café Memória in Madeira will host a special session focused on the prevention of falls, an important concern for individuals with memory-related conditions. The event will run from 9:30 to 11:30 AM and will be led by Dr. Tiago Sardinha, a general practitioner known for his work with older adults.

Café Memória is a project initiated by Alzheimer Portugal and Sonae Sierra, with support from the Municipal Council of Funchal and the Regional Secretariat for Social Inclusion and Citizenship. It aims to serve as a meeting point for individuals with memory issues, dementia, their caregivers, and families.

The session will provide valuable insights into how to prevent falls, which are a common risk for those with dementia and other memory impairments. This event is part of an ongoing series designed to offer support and information to the local community.

Madeira's Café Memória events are an essential part of the island's support network for those affected by dementia. These gatherings not only offer practical advice but also foster a sense of community and mutual support among attendees.
