ADRAP Expands 'Machico Activo' to Support Senior Population in Madeira
Madeira GuideThe 'Machico Activo' program by ADRAP is being extended to reach seniors in remote areas of Machico, Madeira, to enhance their health and well-being.
The Associação Desportiva e Recreativa de Água de Pena (ADRAP) has announced a significant expansion of its 'Machico Activo' program, aimed at providing better support to the senior population in Madeira. The program, now in its eleventh edition, is designed to promote health and well-being among seniors through a multidisciplinary approach that includes health and physical exercise professionals.
In response to the needs of seniors residing in more isolated areas of Machico, ADRAP has decided to extend the program both in terms of duration and reach. The initiative will now also be conducted at the Centro Cívico Social e Cultural da Ribeira Seca, in addition to the existing sessions held at the Sala da Junta de Freguesia de Machico. This change ensures that seniors who are unable to travel to the central Machico location can still benefit from the program's offerings.
The expansion of 'Machico Activo' highlights ADRAP's commitment to ensuring that all seniors have access to essential health and fitness resources, regardless of their geographical location. By bringing the program closer to those in need, ADRAP aims to enhance the quality of life for many elderly residents in Madeira.
Machico, a town known for its picturesque landscapes and rich cultural heritage, is a part of the Madeira archipelago, which is a popular tourist destination. The 'Machico Activo' program not only supports local seniors but also enhances the town's reputation as a community-focused and inclusive area.
