On the evening of January 8th, 2026, a woman in her 50s was involved in a road accident at the site of Serrado, Porto da Cruz. The elderly man experienced a cardiorespiratory arrest and, after successful resuscitation by the EMIR and the Madeira Volunteer Firefighters, he was transported to Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital.
