The accident occurred early in the morning, and the woman, who complained of pain in her coccyx, was promptly attended to by the Bombeiros Sapadores do Funchal and taken to Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça for treatment.
In a separate incident in Machico on January 14, 2026, a woman in her sixties was lightly injured after being hit by a car on Rua da Árvore. She was attended to by the Bombeiros Municipais de Machico and transported to the local health center's emergency department.
