The Associação do Caminho Real da Madeira marked its 9th anniversary with a cultural walk in Santo da Serra, attracting 75 participants for a 12-kilometer journey through Madeira's scenic landscapes.

The Associação do Caminho Real da Madeira celebrated its 9th anniversary with a cultural walk that took place last Saturday. The event, which was attended by 75 participants, followed a 12-kilometer route between the Igreja Matriz de Santo António da Serra and the Capela de Nossa Senhora dos Remédios, traversing the picturesque highlands of the Santa Cruz municipality.

This cultural walk commenced in the unique plateau of Santo da Serra, a territory administratively divided between the municipalities of Machico and Santa Cruz but united in its landscape and community spirit. The event was not only a celebration of the association's anniversary but also an opportunity to promote the natural and cultural heritage of Madeira.

The Caminho Real da Madeira, an organization dedicated to preserving the historical paths of Madeira, aims to enhance awareness and appreciation of the island's traditional routes. These paths historically connected various regions of the island and played a crucial role in the socio-economic development of Madeira.

Participants, many of whom were locals and tourists, enjoyed the opportunity to engage with Madeira's rich history and natural beauty. The event highlighted the importance of cultural and natural preservation, aligning with the association's mission to protect and promote Madeira's unique heritage.
